A new draft of the national appendix DIN 1991-1-4 has been in force since the beginning of the year. This update is already integrated into LoCaStatik and available to you.

New edition of ÖNORM B 1991-1-4

The new national appendix ÖNORM B 1991-1-4 has been in force in Austria since April 2023. The following has been incorporated into LoCaStatik.

01 Gazetteer adjusted
In the course of a precise evaluation in the towns of Bad Tatzmannsdorf, Ferlach, Aigen im Mühlkreis, Obertauern and Seckau, the basic values ​​of the basic wind speed & basic speed pressure were adjusted.

02 Extension of the scope of Table A. 2
The basic velocity pressures qb,0 are now also to be determined in standard locations according to Table A.2 if the building is on a terrain change that is more than 45° inclined and higher than 100 m.

03 Solar panels parallel to the roof surface
The pressure coefficients for solar panels parallel to the roof surface are now limited to the cpe,1 value of the roof surface below.

04 Other changes
There were also other minor changes to the canopies, overhead power lines and the incorporation of HORA.

The largest snow load database contains 2181 locations with the three valid published standards (ÖNORM B 4000-4, B 4013, B 1991-1-3) and all 8 amended versions in the period 1955 - 2022.

You can compare the standard snow load (on the ground in the town center) when erecting your building with the current snow load. This comparison serves as a basis for the static assessment and helps you when planning a roof renovation or a photovoltaic or solar system.

Wind and Snow loads according to DIN

LoCaStatik expands to Germany. It is now possible to calculate wind and snow loads for buildings in Germany according to DIN 1991-1-4 and DIN 1991-1-3.
